Robot – Movies That Used Robots

A close up of a toy

Even before the word robot was coined movies were obsessed with it. Science fiction movies have always captured the hearts of fans. This is because of the possibilities that it can give the writers. With science, anything that is currently not a reality is a possibility in the near future. Robots are one such fantasy. Writers and movie makers have explored this concept for years and are still not done with it.

Robots have gained acceptance as a common idea in today’s digital world. You have real live robots that can perform household chores and save you time and money. Most of all they save you the energy to perform a task. They can repeat a task over and over again for hours together and can do it much faster than any human put together. Robots though a reality in your daily life now, still have amazing possibilities to think of in the future. Movies are certainly a way to imagine the impossible. Here are a few movies that thought of robots very differently. Read them to explore how they can instigate creativity in your mind.

First Of The Robot Movies – 1951

‘The day the earth stood still’ was probably one of the first of the movies ever made on the theme. Though it is less about robots and more about aliens, this opened up doors of imagination to the ones that followed. The film’s key player was Gort the giant robot that came from outer space. The entire alien force was made of them to remove us from the face of the earth. This movie makes the brain wonder if it were true. Though it does not have anything that looks like a machine, the unchecked possibility makes it fascinating.

Matrix Changed It All

The movie trilogy changed the very way we think about robots. It has the sublime philosophy of what if we are not needed anymore and the system can handle itself fairly well with machines. The theory of matrix stuck a chord with many kinds of audiences and continues to be one of the most favorite movies of all time. This one not only replaced humans with machines but also questioned the various ways that the machines are already existing in the world. The philosophy of matrix is one to think about before we consume it anymore in this world.

Transformers

This movie took the love of machines, combined it with war, aliens, AI, and anything else you can think of in a sci-fi movie. The high action movie is still a favorite among many and is certainly a possibility in the near future. You already have automated cars, that can talk. It is only a question of time when they can start changing shapes to adjust to different users. The close to the possibility of reality is what makes this movie as real as it gets. However, the robots in this movie are split on each side one saving the world and others trying to eliminate it.
