All that is needed to be done with these robots is to program them to do the tasks and these robots complete them with high efficiency and accuracy.

Nowadays robots are being used in a lot of fields such as healthcare, space exploration, malitry, manufacturing, etc. In the manufacturing industry, a variety of things like welding, painting, testing, etc. are being performed by robots now. These robots are commonly referred to as the industrial robots.

How Does An Industrial Robot Work?

Robot’s sensors observe the enviornment and provide feedback to a controller. A robot can have a variety of sensors based upon what tasks it is meant to perform. These sensors can include things like cameras, position sensors, infrared sensors, etc.The controller the brain of a robot, it receives information from the sensors and makes decisions based upon that information.

Once the controller makes the decision, information is then sent to the robot’s actuators so tasks can be performed. With the movement of the robot, sensors receive new information and sends it to the controller. Often, algorithms are used on data received from sensors to get more accurate results.

Industrial Robots Programming Methods

To perform different tasks, the motion of a robot is controlled by using programming.

Industrial robots are programmed using 3 different methods.

  1. Teach Mode Programming- In this programming method, a person uses buttons located on a device to guide the robot through a sequence of moves. The moves and positions are stored to help the robot repeat the actions. This method is good for robots with simple movements. But this method is not good for the situations where robots need to be reprogrammed frequently.
  1. Lead Through Programming- In this methods a person manually moves the robot through different positions,the robot then stores these movements and positions using a motor controller.
  1. Learning Through Demonstration- in this method, a person performs different tasks in front of a camera and a mathematical function is generated to encode this task. Then , reference commends are generated for the robot using these mathematical functions. The robot follows these reference commends to perform the task.

With human population growth and labour class declining in the developed nations, These countries are gonna need more and more industrial robots.
